Yancey Arias

Birth Date: June 27 1971
Birth Place: N/A

Yancey Arias was born in in New York City. Filled with ambition and hunger to learn more, Yancey went on to study acting and Music Theater at Carnegie Mellon University for the next 2 years. He continued to pursue his career and add more credits to his already growing resume. While Yancey was in High School he had done a few commercials and voice-overs. In college he began to do some film and TV work. It was in 1992 when Miss Saigon the Broadway show offered him a job as an understudy and ensemble member. Over the next 8 years Yancey performed in 27 film, theater, and TV productions. Six of those years he did a large part of his TV work while doing Miss Saigon, where he eventually took over the principal role of Thuy for 4 out of those 6 years. He is forever thankful to the understanding and supportive production team of that show. Some of his credits include guest starring and feature roles in New York Undercover, NYPD Blue, One Life To Live, Law & Order, Swift Justice, Promised Land, The Sopranos, The Education of Matt Waters, Criminal Justice, Destination Unknown, and much more. Inspired by what people like Edward James Olmos, John Leguizamo, and Marc Anthony did for themselves in film and music, he coproduced and starred in two of his own films: Destination Unknown- winner for Best Independent at the '97 Hampton Film Festival, and The Home Invaders. The year 2000 brought a new accomplishment to Yancey's life. After doing two workshops of the new Broadway show The Wild Party, he found himself competing for the leading role of Black, the lover of the show. George Wolf was determined to find a popular Latin performer of the times to fill the part. But no one was available. Then George had to decide on a group of powerful and talented unknowns. Yancey was the chosen one. He thanks his acting mentor and friend Allen Savage, and Neil Semer his singing coach, for all the knowledge they continually give him to aid in these kinds of accomplishments. In 2001, he moved to Los Angeles. Upon arrival he was cast in the role of "Toren" in the DreamWorks action adventure movie, The Time Machine. Soon after he was guest starring in The Shield, JAG, Charmed, NYPD Blue and CSI: Miami. In 2002, he began shooting what is known to be his breakthrough production, Kingpin as "Miguel Cadena." This was by far the biggest break of his career to date.
